Newly Released in 2018! The National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO) understands the need for a quality assessment performance improvement (QAPI) resource that assists a hospice provider with implementation and maintenance of their quality improvement program and activities. The Toolkit provides a framework for QAPI with review of §418.58 of the Medicare Hospice Conditions of Participation (CoPs): Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement. It will also explore the detailed requirements of the CoP and lists the definition of ‘quality’ in hospice. In addition, the Toolkit will identify NHPCO’s core quality components in the Hospice Standards of Practice. The toolkit also provides a review of the components of a quality program and tools and resources to support the development, implementation, and maintenance of a comprehensive and high functioning QAPI program.
