Description
Webinar Description
Providing timely access to community palliative care services is a challenge due to workforce and budget constraints. Leveraging telehealth is one way to increase access to palliative care and hospice services for seriously ill patients and their families. This Webinar will include a focus on definitions, use cases, best practices, barriers and new opportunities (CMS payment models/compact laws) for telepalliative care. The Webinar will share the experience of two providers’ practical application of telehealth in the palliative care and hospice population. Dana Lustbader MD is the Chief Medical Officer for Optum Supportive Care, an advanced illness program providing care to people with serious illness utilizing in-home visits and telemedicine. Kimberly Shea, PhD, RN, CHPN is Clinical Associate Professor of Nursing at the University of Arizona and Assistant Director of Telenursing for the Arizona Telemedicine Program. As a nationally funded nurse-scientist, she investigates technology-based delivery of health care in patients’ homes. This Webinar is a must for palliative care and hospice programs that are looking for ways to provide timely access to high quality care while managing program cost, workforce and geographic limitations.
Webinar Objectives
